The Illinois Wesleyan University women’s basketball team defeated North Park University 99-42 on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at the Shirk Center.
The sixth conference home win of the season for the Titans slots them with an overall record of 21-1, 12-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
After their first loss of the season last weekend against Carroll University, the Titans put up an excellent offensive performance to turn the page. The Titans were red hot from the field shooting 55.1 percent on the night (38-of-69). Junior guard Ava Bardic paced the Titans as she scored a game-high 17 points. Bardic also recorded a game-high four steals, propelling the Titans to force 29 turnovers.
Not trailing far behind, senior guard Kate Palmer recorded 12 points of her own with fifth-year forward Catie Knutson adding 11 points to round out the double-digit scorers.
The Titan bench outscored the total amount of points the Vikings had in total (48-42). Leading the bench was the duo of freshman guards, Luigi Lam and Alyssa Eps, who combined for 10 points.
The Titans dominated in all facets of the game, leading the Vikings in points off turnovers (48-13), second-chance scoring (14-6), points in the paint (56-16) and rebounding (46-28).
The Titans will close out their home conference schedule hosting Millikin University at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Feb. 15. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. where IWU will honor their seniors pregame.
