“Public Trust” film to be screened

Friday, Sept. 24 from 6:30-8:45 p.m.

IWU Environmental Studies Program, GREENetwork, and Sierra Student Coalition will host a showing of “Public Trust” virtually. The film focuses on how public lands are facing unprecedented threats and will be followed by a discussion. The event requires registration. 

Family Weekend moves online

Friday, Sept. 25 from 6-8:30 p.m.

Family Weekend will be “Titan Family Friday” this year. For a list of events, students can check the IWU calendar for details. The event will be held virtually and requires registration. 

CAB hosts annual Fall Fest

Saturday, Sept. 26 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Campus Activities Board will host IWU’s annual Fall Fest on the Eckley Quad. There will be bags, Connect Four, catch, pumpkin painting and carving, place for photos, donut challenge, Twister, food and potato sack races. 

Student Senate to hold weekly assembly 

Sunday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.

General Assembly meetings are open to the entire campus. Students and faculty are encouraged to come to meetings and add to the discussion. The meeting will be held over Zoom and the link can be found on the campus calendar as well as the Student Senate website. 

Career Center presents annual Career Fair

Monday, Sept. 28 from 4-6 p.m.

Hart Career Center’s annual Fall Career Fair will be held virtually in Handshake, IWU’s career services platform. Students are encouraged to log in to Handshake, register for the fair and sign up for group video sessions and 1:1 meetings with companies looking to hire ahead of time.  IWU students of all majors and school years are welcome to attend this event.

Academic Skills Series continues

Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 12-1 p.m.

The Action Resource Center will continue their “Academic Skills” Series this week. Student Success Tutors will cover “Managing Your Stress Before It Manages You.” The event will be held over Zoom and students can find the link to register on IWU’s Academic Skills webpage. 

Writing Center holds short story contest

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 1

Students are encouraged to submit 280-character-long Halloween-themed stories to ascanlon@iwu.edu between Thursday, October 1st and Sunday, October 25th at 11:59 p.m. IWU Tutors will judge the winners anonymously. 

Kappa Delta hosts trivia night

Friday, Oct. 2 from 6-10 p.m.

Kappa Delta is hosting a Virtual Trivia Night to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America and The Baby Fold. Cost of attendance is $5 per person or $20 per a team of five. Students without a team will be assigned one at the event. Links and registration forms can be found on the campus calendar.
