Idea Center gives laser-cutting tutorial
Fri. Oct 23, from 12-2 p.m.
A tutorial and workshop will be facilitated by student workers at the Memorial Center’s Idea Center. Materials will be provided. The Idea Center provides students with tools such as laser cutters, sewing machines, and more and can be found down the stairs next to the Coffee Shoppe.
CAB hosts “Murder Mystery”
Fri. Oct. 23 from 7-9 p.m.
Campus Activities Board will host a murder mystery event for students over Zoom. Students are encouraged to attend with friends to solve the clues. An email will be sent to the student body with links to register.
SOTA presents Mary Jane
Fri. Oct. 23 through Sun. Oct. 25, at 2 and 7 p.m.
IWU’s School of Theatre Arts will present Mary Jane, a play about “a contemporary American woman striving for grace.” Students can purchase tickets to stream the play virtually here.
Writing Center holds personal statement workshop
Tue. Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
IWU’s Writing Center will present a workshop taking students through the work done to craft a personal statement in preparation for graduate school. To register for this event or to receive the recorded lecture, students can find information on the Writing Center’s website.
Virtual Graduate/Professional School Fair takes place
Wed. Oct 28 from 9-2 p.m.
Illinois Wesleyan will join colleges along I-74 (Augustana College, Knox College, Monmouth College, Bradley University, and Millikin University) to host a virtual graduate and professional school fair for students. The fair will take place on Handshake and students can register here.
Freeman Asia info session takes place
Thu. Oct. 29, from 4-5:15pm
The information session for the Summer 2021 IWU Freeman Asia Internship in Japan, Thailand and the Philippines will be held virtually this year. Students interested are encouraged to attend as decisions will not be made until March 2021 about if the program will run. Students can register to attend here.
