Tributaries submissions close

Students wanting to submit work to IWU’s literary journal, Tributaries, are required to send in their poems, prose, short stories, art or photography to iwutributaries@gmail.com by Friday night.

Career Center continues grad school “Crash Course” series

Tues. Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.

The Hart Career Center will continue their graduate school workshop series on Tuesday with their next installment, “Making the Right Choice: Researching and Choosing Grad Schools.” The workshop will be held virtually on Zoom and students are required to RSVP on Handshake. 

 “Titan Talk” on climate change takes place

Tues. Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

The IWU Alumni Engagement office will invite alum Karen Petersen, Climate Change Project Manager for the Illinois Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, who will discuss her career trajectory, her role at TNC and how her work is addressing global climate change. The event is co-sponsored by IWU’s Biology Department and Environmental Studies Program. Students can register to attend here.

Academic Skills Series continues

Wed. Oct. 21 from 12-1 p.m.

The Action Resource Center’s “Student Success” tutors will present a workshop titled “Writing 101: Crafting Strong Papers.” The workshop will be held virtually and can be registered for here.

CAB hosts “Murder Mystery”

Fri. Oct. 23 from 7-9 p.m.

Campus Activities Board will host a murder mystery event for students over Zoom. Students are encouraged to attend with friends to solve the clues. An email will be sent to the student body with links to register. 

SOTA presents Mary Jane

Fri. Oct 23 through Sun. Oct. 25, at 2 and 7 p.m.

IWU’s School of Theatre Arts will present Mary Jane, a play about “a contemporary American woman striving for grace.” Students can purchase tickets to stream the play virtually here.
