Brenden Reutter has been an unstoppable force on the Titan men’s volleyball team this season. The 6’4 sophomore setter from Frankfort, Ill. majors in business at Illinois Wesleyan, but means major business on the court.
Last season, Reutter recorded two double-double performances. This year, he is putting up triple-doubles, doing it in back-to-back matches. He became the first player in Division III this season to do so.
Reutter’s career highs in digs and kills were earned playing 19th-ranked Dominican on Feb. 6, 2025, logging 21 digs and 10 kills during the match. During the same match, he also raked in 25 assists. Reutter’s leads in digs and assists helped the team achieve their first-ever win over a top-20 opponent.
On Feb. 10, the College Conference of Illinois and Winsconsin (CCIW) announced Reutter as their Setter of the Week. This CCIW honor is his first ever conference award.
In addition to conference honors, Reutter won multiple national honors in the same week. FrogJump Volleyball, an organization created by a former Division III athlete that is devoted to the coverage of Division III men’s volleyball, named him setter of their National Team of the Week.
Reutter also earned the title of American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Player of the Week. He is the first player in program history to win this AVCA honor.
Reutter and the Titans play No. 19 North Central College at Shirk Center on Feb. 18, 2025 at 7 p.m.
