‘Invincible,’ Amazon’s animated superhero show based on the comic book series of the same name, released its third season on Feb. 6, 2025.
And it is good. Surprisingly good. Almost suspiciously good.
With five of the season’s eight episodes now out, I decided I finally trusted the quality of the season enough to write about it.
Considering the steep drop off in animation quality between the first two seasons (not to mention the four month hiatus between the first half and second half releases of ‘Invincible’ season two,) I was skeptical the show would be able to regain its footing.
And after I heard that ‘Invincible’ had an even lower budget for its third season, I was expecting the show to fall on its face and the franchise to fizzle back into obscurity.
However, at every turn, season three feels perfect. The new dynamics between Mark and his brother, Oliver, are fascinating to watch. Invincible’s growing distrust with the GDA and his budding relationship with Atom Eve? Chef’s kiss. And the villains, new and old, moving this season’s story along are just incredible. Season three feels like a major step back in the right direction.
Invincible season three is really, really good, and all I want to do is spoil every single little thing about this season. If comic books didn’t cost eight arms and two legs a piece to buy, I would order the whole series now and spoil the rest of the show for myself.
So, dear readers, please go and watch Invincible season three (and seasons one and two if you haven’t already) right now so I can write about it again in three weeks when the season finale airs.
