Boba Night with Juggler

Friday, April 1, 7-8 p.m.

Hansen Student Center

 

There will be free boba as well as a performance by a professional juggler. There will be lights and music involved in the performance. This event is sponsored by CAB. 

 

Barrio Fiesta 

Saturday, April 2, 5-11 p.m. 

Young Main Lounge 

 

There will be food, performances and dancing at Fiesta. The countries represented this year at the fiesta are Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Peru and Chile. The event is free and all attendees have to do is RSVP. The RSVP can be accessed by the QR codes on the posters around campus. This event will be sponsored by the Spanish and Latine Student Association.

 

Student Senate General Assembly

Sunday, April 3, 6-7 p.m.

Hansen Student Center

 

General Assembly meetings are open for the entire student body. There is no entry fee for this event. Students do not have to be a senator to attend and the student senate encourages everyone to attend. 

 

Finishing the Semester Strong: Sticking the Landing

Monday, April 4, 4-5 p.m.

The Writing Center, room 105b, The Ames Library

 

This workshop takes students through strategies to complete a successful semester and to do well on finals. They will cover study tips, test strategies and offer support to achieve academic goals. There will be a recording of the event available one week after the event at students request to ascanlon@iwu.edu. This event is sponsored by the Writing Center and Tutor Services.

 

Never a Tumbleweed: Mike Mason ‘80

Alum Michael Mason will be presenting on the need to live one’s life with intentional focus. Mason will share the one factor he believes is a critical component to success. Mason has held leadership positions in the U.S. Marine Corps, Federal Bureau of Investigation and in the private sector.

Wednesday, April 6, 7:30 p.m.

Jerome Mirza Theater McPherson Hall

 

Dr. Michelle Gibbs will be making her directorial debut at IWU this week. The show centers around residents at the Hummingbird Motel and was nominated for four Tony Awards. Stories and everything else unfolds as a burlesque icon and mother to the community, Miss Ruby hosts a funeral for herself. The show will be put on Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
