Rebounds were the name of the game for the Titans in their 68-54 victory over No. 11 ranked Elmhurst College on Wednesday, Nov. 30. IWU grabbed 58 boards compared to Elmhurst’s 37. Of their rebounds, 20 came on the offensive side of the ball, resulting in 17 second chance points for the Green and White.

Junior guard Ryan Sroka earned a double-double in the game. Sroka went 5-13 from the field, scoring 11 points. He and sophomore guard Hakim Williams led the Titans with 11 rebounds each.

Williams also scored 11 points, earning a double-double as well. Williams went 3-7 from the field and made both of the threes he attempted.

Senior guard Lucas Heflen led the Titans in scoring with 14 points. Heflen struggled from beyond the arc, making just one of his six shots, but made up for it at the free throw line where he went 5-6. Heflen served as a defensive force for the Green and White, earning three steals in the game.

Senior forward Cody Mitchell also had a solid outing and earned 13 points and nine rebounds. Mitchell also had two blocks, a team-high for the game.

The Titans are set to face off against Carroll University in their second CCIW game on Saturday, Dec. 2. IWU sits at 3-3 with a 1-0 record in the CCIW and looks to improve to a winning record against Carroll.
