CAB hosts “Chalk The Quad”

April 3, 2-4 p.m.

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) will provide chalk for students to decorate a sidewalk square on the main quad. In the end, the two best chalk artists will win a hammock. Students should check in at the table in front of Statefarm for chalk and free cookies provided by Janet’s Cakes and Catering.

Cypher Dance Team hosts Spring Showcase

April 4, 7-8 p.m.

The showcase will include dance performances from both the Fall and Spring semesters as well as smaller units, duos or solos prepared by the team members. The event will be held in a hybrid format due to covid-19 restrictions and only a limited number of people can attend in-person. Students who are interested in attending either in-person or virtually should RSVP with this form. The live stream for the event can be found through this link.

Academic Skills Series comes to a close

April 5, 6-7 p.m.

Students can join the Action Research Center’s (ARC) final drop-in call of the semester where the topic will focus on finishing the semester strong and finals tips. Students who are interested in attending should watch the pre-recorded video before logging onto the Zoom meeting.

IWU hosts Red Sand Project

April 6, 2-4 p.m.

The Red Sand Project is a participatory form of artwork demonstrated by pouring red sand into pavement cracks to represent the millions of men, women and children who often “fall through the cracks” and are exploited daily for commercial sex or forced labor. The event is free and active participation in spreading the sand near Memorial Center is highly encouraged. To-go bags will also be available to spread throughout the campus and community. Student Senate, ODI and the Dean of Students Office will sponsor the event that will occur over the span of three days: April 6, 2-4, April 7, 11-1 and April 8, 4-6. 

Writing Center holds Pre-Health Workshop

April 6, 6-7 p.m.

Part three of the Writing Center’s Personal Statements for Pre-Health workshop. The workshop assists students with tips about how to edit their personal statements, giving ideas for common pitfalls writers step into and ways to avoid them. SOM presents Student Composition Concert

April 7, 8:15 p.m.

The School of Music (SOM) will hold its annual concert that showcases student work. The event will premiere online at the listed time and then be available on demand. All links will be posted here

IWU hosts All In for Wesleyan

The Advancement Office will sponsor an all-day event to show support for Illinois Wesleyan. Alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff and students are invited to show their IWU pride through a day of giving.
