News Briefs 1/22-1/29

CAB hosts “Take & Make Calendars”

Fri. Jan. 22 from 6-8 p.m.

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be in Hansen Student Center handing out premade calendar kits for everyone to assemble and decorate on their own. They will also be handing out calendars for future CAB events. 

Student Senate holds general assembly

Sun. Jan. 24, 6 p.m.

Students are encouraged to attend the General Assembly meetings for Student Senate where they can voice their concerns on issues they feel need to be addressed on campus. 

Academic Skills Series to kick off Spring semester

Mon. Jan. 25 from 6-7 p.m. 

The Action Research Center’s (ARC) Student Success Tutors will host a workshop “Tips & Tools for a successful semester” virtually. Students can sign up for the workshop here or watch the pre-recorded video here.

OSI hosts RSO event planning training

Wed. Jan 27, 12 p.m.

The Office of Student Involvement will present a virtual training session for RSO leaders where they will cover essential information regarding COVID-19 guidelines for spring 2021 events. A link will be sent to all RSO officer emails. 

SOTA opens new art exhibits

Jan. 19 – Feb 11

The Ames School of Art will have Japanese Woodblock Prints by Utagawa Hiroshige from the IWU Art Collection on display. They will also have a “Blo No Collects” exhibit which will feature cross-stitched samplers from Connie Blick. The Atrium Gallery will also display “Women’s Rights are Human Rights” which is a selection of posters selected by Elizabeth Resnick.
