CAB hosts Spoken Word performance

Friday, Sept. 18 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

CAB, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of Student Involvement will come together to host a Social Justice Spoken Word Night with poet Jon Goode. The event will take place in hybrid form, with both in-person and virtual attendance options. Masks and social distancing will be enforced in Hansen Student Center and students who would like to participate are encouraged to reach out to CAB. 

Virtual Career Fair takes place

Tuesday, Sept. 28

The Hart Career Center will host their annual Career Fair virtually this year. The fair will be held on Handshake, IWU’s career services platform. Students interested should log in to Handshake to register for the virtual fair. The fair will feature over 60 employers who are looking to hire IWU student Employers who have started building their schedules for the fair with group sessions and 1:1 sessions. For more information, students should contact the Career Center. 

Student Senate to hold DIY Mask + Vote event

Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The Civic Engagement and Sustainability Commissioner of Student Senate will hold a Titan Votes/Mask tie-dying event on the quad. The event will focus on teaching the sustainability of reusable masks and allow students to make their own. The event will also act as a launch for the Student Senate’s “Titan Vote” Campaign. 

Academic Skills Series continues

Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

The Action Resource Center continues their “Academic Skills” Series this week. Student Success Tutors will cover “Reading to Understand.” The event will be held over Zoom and students can find the link to register on IWU’s Academic Skills webpage. 

Peer Tutoring Session takes place

Thursday, Sept. 24 from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.

The session will cover the basics of organizing and managing one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for all subjects. All campus tutors are invited to attend. The event will be sponsored by the Action Research Center. 

“Public Trust” film to be screened

Friday, Sept. 24 from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m.

IWU Environmental Studies Program, GREENetwork, and Sierra Student Coalition will host a showing of “Public Trust” virtually. The film focuses on how public lands are facing unprecedented threats and will be followed by a discussion. The event requires registration. 

Family Weekend moves online

Friday, Sept. 25 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Family Weekend will be “Titan Family Friday” this year. For a list of events, students can check the IWU calendar for details. The event will be held virtually and requires registration.
